Interior Design Assistant

More Decor in Tacoma WA is seeking an Interior Design Assistant to focus on the creation and installation of designs for residential clients and the staging of Real-Estate properties. This position also assists the Designer / Owner with other design services such as drawing floor plans, elevations, and renderings, sourcing furnishings and materials, and creating design boards.

Job Description:

Staging and Design:
*Work with Designer on creating design concepts for staging, redesign, and remodel clients
* Work alongside designer to conduct design installations and decorate residential and commercial spaces
*Prep for staging projects and design installs; pack and unpack furniture and decor, load and unload furniture and boxes; move furniture and décor in and out or houses and vehicles
*Accompany designer to meetings with client; documenting notes, measurements, and photos
*Create floor plans and elevations with design software
*Source furnishings and materials on the internet and in the field
*Assist with developing electronic and loose lay design boards
*Assist with developing written design plans

Sales:
*Greet and develop rapport with all clients
*Identify design and furniture needs of client, present furniture options to address needs
*Develop client profile and maintain long term relationships with clients
*Process sales transactions
*Develop design leads and schedule Designer to meet with client in their home
*Keep store displays updated; rearrange and style furnishings as needed

Job Requirements:

*Work experience, education, certification, or degree in Interior Design required
*Proficient in at least one Interior Design Software program
*Proficient in MS Word and Excel; Internet proficiency
*Attention to detail and organizational skills a must; with the affinity for being meticulous
*Innate design talent with the ability to express and translate creative ideas
*Proven ability to identify client needs and wants and translate into sales
*Proven relationship building with clients, vendors, and community members
*Proven ability to continue long term client relationships
*Reliable, personal transportation required for all times of the day and any day of the week; will need to drive to and from vendors locations, job sites, and sourcing destinations throughout the Puget Sound region; Proof of auto insurance required.
*Personal cell phone required to make and accept business related calls, texts, and e-mails

*Proven “do-it-yourself” home improvement skills; i.e. understand how to use tools, hang items on a wall, utilize a tape measure, etc.
*Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs individually and up to 150 lbs with a team member; will be lifting furniture, hanging items on a wall, installing hardware, and climbing ladders.

Hours / Days / Schedule:
*The position is qualified as full-time with an average of 40 hours / week, with a potential for overtime hours during large projects.
*An average week is Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., however must be open to working Sundays and earlier or later hours during peak season or large projects.

Salary / Wage / Benefits:
Hourly wage is DOE and will be discussed during interview, plus mileage reimbursement for travel to and from job sites

Entry Level Furniture and Decor Installer

More Decor is seeking an Entry Level Furniture and Decor Installer who is passionate about learning the Design and Real-estate Staging Industry, loves people, and has a can-do attitude!

Job Description:

Warehouse and Retail Store:

*Prepare furniture and decor for design installations, pack and unpack furniture and decor, load and unload furniture and boxes in and out of trucks

*Keep the furniture warehouse clean and organized

*Assist with setting up furniture and decor displays in the retail store

*Keep the retail store clean and organized

 

Job Sites in the Field:

*Drive to various job sites through-out King, Pierce, Thurston, and Kitsap Counties

* Unload and load moving trucks, move furniture and boxes into houses and commercial spaces; must be able to lift up to 40lbs on own and 150lbs with a partner

*Conduct entry-level design installations:  assist with arranging furniture and decor, make beds, hang artwork, steam linens
